Our role is to manage the ordering, storage and delivery of all Dechra’s veterinary products. Most of our pharmaceuticals are made in our factories in Holland and the UK. They are then shipped to Denmark to be stored before being despatched to our many European customers. We also have a similar facility in the US. There are around forty people in our department and the roles cover all positions within the supply chain and logistics structure.
We run a lean and mean structure with a real time, paperless state of the art Warehouse Management System. We believe that our cutting edge technologies put us ahead of the curve. We are immensely proud of the fact that Dechra is FDA approved in both the UK and the USA as well as being GMP approved in Europe.
From talking to my colleagues in Sales I know that they strive hard to add value to every veterinary business that we work with by exploring new initiatives and higher levels of business support. They don’t view their relationship with our clients as simply sales/customer; they pride themselves on building long standing partnerships with them in order to help them to grow their businesses. Dechra receives tremendous industry feedback and we are very proud of our unique products and our access to a wide range of customers.
Dechra has achieved double digit growth over the past two decades and a growing business means real opportunities for career progression. I’m a great example of that. I started off in the warehouse, was promoted to warehouse manager and now run Logistics. I have over 20 years’ service and the business is constantly evolving and growing - both organically and by acquisition.
There is a culture of “Go Do”. No one feels alone. It’s a culture of taking ownership and helping others if they need it. It’s a supportive environment.
