The Sales teams in Dechra are responsible for selling Dechra products to our customers, the veterinarians. Each of our country operations has its own field sales team who are home based. In some countries, depending on the product range, there are some additional roles such as tele-account managers, Key Account Managers, (who deal with some of the larger customers), and Equine or Large Animal specialists.
We are the face of the business and it is our aim to build long-term lasting relationships with our customers that benefit them and in turn benefit their customers too. Dechra is a progressive business and our sales teams are successfully partnering with many veterinarians across the world, from individual practices to large corporate groups and universities.
We have a broad portfolio of products which includes pioneering pharmaceuticals in niche markets such as endocrinology as well as a range of specialist pet diets and products for food producing animals. We work hard to provide added value to every veterinary business that we work with. We look at new initiatives and business support - yes we are selling to our customers but we strive to offer more than just our product range.
Dechra has a strong history. The share price is growing. We get great industry feedback and we are proud of our unique products and the access this gives us to a wide range of customers.
There are real opportunities for progression within the Dechra Sales team. We like to promote from within and nurture our talent so as well as recruiting experienced sales staff we have recruited field sales staff from our customer services and tele-account account teams.
The Sales team is spread across the whole of the Dechra group from the north of Norway to the southern states of the US. Although the product range varies depending on which country you work in the drive and enthusiasm across the sales team is consistent.
Marketing is represented by teams in each of our global locations along with a European Central Marketing Team, based in the UK and the Netherlands.
The Central team has overall responsibility for managing the larger, global products and for the positioning and life cycle management of these products as well as product branding and the creation of major international marketing campaigns. The marketing approach is then adapted, where necessary, by the locally based teams to suit their market and customer base and to ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements. These ‘local marketing’ teams are responsible for all marketing initiatives in their country.
We are all very focussed on our customers - mainly veterinarians but, in some countries, distributors - in order to identify and meet their needs.
Dechra differs by focusing on the development of niche products, especially in the fields of endocrinology and dermatology, which deliver real benefits to both veterinarians and the animals that they treat. The ability to react quickly to the needs of our customers really sets Dechra apart.
Our products, and the diseases that they treat, are often quite complex which means that the marketing campaigns we create usually contain important educational material to support veterinarians in diagnosing, monitoring and treating animals. The sourcing and delivery of such vital information adds another dimension to the role of marketing in Dechra.
Dechra has a history of building great marketing teams. Although many of our product managers are trained veterinarians we know from experience that talented marketing people, irrespective of their industry background, can quickly adapt their skills to the animal pharmaceutical market. With our philosophy of recognising and rewarding talent then Dechra is a great place to build a career.
Despite being scattered across the globe the Dechra marketing team is a close knit unit. We’ve forged a culture of appreciation and respect and we’re focused on achieving our goals through working together.
