The Opportunity

Drive net revenue and profit growth by partnering with customer Key Accounts in alignment with the Dechra 2030 strategy. Accountable for delivering commercial targets through strategic relationship management, execution of customer plans, pricing strategies, and contract performance. Collaborate across the Key Account team and wider organisation to achieve sales targets through effective account management and growth strategy execution.

Role Responsibility
So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied remit and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:

Commercial Fundamentals
  • Deliver annual sales, margin, and profitability targets of key accounts across companion animal, farm, and equine portfolios.
  • Translate company-wide commercial goals into executional strategies with measurable KPIs.
  • Lead development and execution of Key Account Business Plans (KABPs) focused on revenue growth, margin improvement, and market share.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, and Technical (SM&T) teams to ensure aligned go-to-market strategy, support and 360° customer engagement.

Customer & Channel Management
  • Own strategic relationships to drive sustainable long-term growth.
  • Lead negotiations and manage commercial agreements, tenders, rebates, and pricing.
  • Develop and execute growth strategies with full P&L ownership.
  • Innovate to enhance customer relationships and business outcomes.
  • Manage budgets and resources to ensure cost control and optimal ROI.
  • Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews with Key Account stakeholders.
  • Manage day-to-day communications including product launches, stock management, and proactive engagement with Key Account stakeholders.

Data-Driven Decision Making & Insights
  • Analyse commercial data (revenue, margin, ROI, P&L, CRM) to optimize sales execution.
  • Monitor competitor activity and market trends to inform commercial strategy and opportunities.
  • Ownership of customer insights for segmentation and KABP effectiveness.

Operational Excellence
  • Drive continuous improvement of key account processes, including tender management, contracting, compliance, and account governance.
  • Align operations with stock management, product launches, and SLAs to meet customer expectations.

The Candidate
  • Proven experience in Key Account Management, Commercial or Sales Leadership within FMCG, CPG, or Animal Health.
  • Record of delivering growth across complex B2B portfolios.
  • Strong contract negotiation and commercial agreement skills.
  • Data-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Travel as required for customer meetings, congresses (c. 30-50%), and internal meetings.
  • National Certificate of Animal Health (NCAH) must be obtained within 2 years.
  • Adherence to Company values and commercial compliance standards is mandatory.
