The Opportunity The Market Research Director reports to the Senior Vice President, within our new global marketing and technical excellence function. Your role will be to establish and lead the market research approach, bringing data-driven lead generation and codification of competitor, customer and market insights to enable effective decision-making that will maximise the value of priority markets.
You will be leveraging customer research, insights, and segmentation to drive strategic decision-making and market forecasting through a global marketing organization whilst ensuring effective regional and local approaches to research, data and analysis.
Role Responsibility So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied scope, and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:
- Developing and implementing an effective, pragmatic market research strategy to support priority markets and categories. This will be using both external market research vendors and other network/stakeholder opportunities such as Key Opinion Leaders.
- Leading customer segmentation, design and execute research initiatives, through collaboration with the Category leads, to understand customer segmentation based on unmet needs, behaviors, and preferences across global markets, and translate the resultant segmentation into strategic decisions.
- Competitive Intelligence: Monitoring and reporting on competitive activities, pricing strategies, and industry developments to ensure the company maintains a competitive edge in the market.
- Industry Trends: Staying up to date with market dynamics, regulatory changes, technological advancements, and economic factors affecting the industry.
- Developing and refining customer segmentation and market insights into models to enhance targeting, engagement, brand and product positioning.
- Integrating market and customer insights into product development and lifecycle management and assessing market opportunities, competitive landscapes, and unmet customer needs to inform innovation priorities.
- Leading the development of market forecasting models to anticipate trends and business opportunities.
- Utilizing advanced analytics to assess market potential, pricing strategies, and demand planning and providing ongoing performance tracking and benchmarking to guide commercial strategy.

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Market Research, Business, Data Science, Animal Health, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in market research, insights, or business intelligence, preferably within the animal health or pharmaceutical industry.
- Deep understanding of the global animal health market including key therapeutic areas and regulatory frameworks and global commercial dynamics.
- Global experience in business development or commercial strategy development within animal health, pharmaceuticals or life sciences (knowledge of key markets, including Europe, North America, LATAM, and Asia-Pacific).
- Experience in digital health, AI-driven business development, or innovative go-to-market models.
- Experience with advanced data analytics, customer segmentation, and forecasting methodologies.
- Proven track record of integrating market research into commercial and product strategies.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to present insights to senior leadership.
- Ability to travel as required.
