The Opportunity Responsible for overseeing the development, management, and strategic direction for private label products. Ensuring the successful development and growth of private label products, contributing significantly to the company's overall success and competitive positioning in the market.
Role Responsibility So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied remit and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:
- End-to-end responsibility for bringing an OL concept to fruition
- Close collaboration with the pan-EU account directors to identify & appropriately manage OL provision
- Develop and implement the overall strategy for the private label brands, ensuring alignment with the company's goals and market trends.
- Conduct competitive analysis to identify opportunities for new products and to understand consumer needs and preferences.
- Work cross-functionally with all internal key stakeholders to take OL opportunities from concept to finished product ensuring all legislative requirements are adhered to & facilitating regulatory functions & processes to run smoothly.
- Collaboration with EU KAM to negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with customers to secure favourable conditions for the company.
- Coordinate with supply chain and logistics teams to ensure timely and efficient delivery of products.
- Monitor the financial performance of private label products, analysing sales data and profitability, adjusting as necessary & where contracts allow.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing, sales, finance, and operations, to ensure cohesive execution of OL strategy.
- Continuously evaluate and improve processes related to product development, sourcing, and go-to-market strategies.
- Report to senior management on the performance of private label brands, including progress on strategic initiatives, sales performance, and market trends.
- Ensure clear and effective communication with all stakeholders, including internal teams, suppliers, and customers.

Essential
- Significant proven experience in private label product management, with significant experience in managing own-label brands in the pharmaceutical, veterinary, healthcare, or FMCG sectors, showcasing expertise in developing and executing strategies for market success.
- Proven ability to manage multiple products from concept to market, overseeing the entire product lifecycle while maintaining a highly organized approach to prioritization and execution.
- Strong analytical skills in conducting market research, identifying customer needs, and spotting trends to pinpoint opportunities for new products, utilizing advanced spreadsheet capabilities (e.g., data analysis, pivot tables, and forecasting) to drive data-driven decision-making.
- Experience working with supply chain and logistics teams to ensure timely production, sourcing, and delivery of products.
- Demonstrated experience in negotiating contracts, pricing, and terms with external partners or customers, aligning with profitability goals.
- Proficiency in analyzing sales data, forecasting demand, and tracking profitability of private label products, with an ability to make adjustments as necessary.
- Strong knowledge of EU and international regulations concerning private label products, ensuring adherence to all relevant legislative requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively report to senior management and lead cross-functional teams to successful project completion
Desirable
- Experience in digital tools and technologies
- Project management certification
- Innovation mindset, a proven track record of identifying and executing innovative solutions to differentiate private label offerings in competitive markets.
- Fluency in one or more European languages (e.g., French, German, or Spanish) to facilitate collaboration in an international environment.
Additional Information:
- Travel may be required with this role.
- This role is based in our Shrewsbury office on a hybrid basis
