The Opportunity

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales performance within the assigned territory, ensuring the achievement of sales targets, and providing leadership and support to the field sales team. The role involves close collaboration with Marketing, Technical Services, and Pharmacovigilance functions to deliver sustainable business growth and ensure excellence in customer engagement.

Main Responsibilities

So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied remit and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:

Sales Management & Performance Leadership
  • Develop, plan, and monitor the local sales and marketing strategy and budgets, translating these into clear individual targets for sales representatives to achieve annual objectives in line with the strategic plan.
  • Manage sales within the assigned region, with a strong focus on monitoring performance by product, customer segment, and geographic area.
  • Analyse large datasets and relevant KPIs using available tools to evaluate progress against sales targets and adjust activities where necessary in collaboration with the sales team.
  • Track and assess individual sales agent performance, ensuring alignment with business goals and providing regular reporting on progress, trends, and target achievement.
  • Monitor and control regional costs and expenditures to ensure optimal budget use and support successful delivery of the business plan.

Field Force Management & Coaching
  • Lead, coach, and develop direct reports (sales representatives), ensuring appropriate delegation, continuous skills development, and high performance.
  • Supervise and support sales agents in their promotional and direct sales activities.
  • Deliver technical and commercial training, including field coaching, joint visits, and hands-on support to enhance sales effectiveness.
  • Maintain a strong presence in the field to drive performance, identify opportunities, and reinforce excellence in customer interactions.

Marketing Implementation & Collaboration
  • Coordinate and execute marketing strategies and tactical initiatives at regional level, supporting both product-specific and institutional campaigns.
  • Work closely with the Marketing Department to ensure successful and timely execution of product launches within agreed timelines and budgets.
  • Gather and share market intelligence, monitor competitor activities, and assess product performance across the region.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of marketing plans through insights gathered from the field.
  • Maintain and support CRM usage to strengthen relationships with external partners, KOLs, and key commercial contacts.

Key Account & Distributor Management
  • Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with wholesalers, key customers, key opinion leaders (KOLs), and other strategic stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with key accounts to deliver solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations and drive continuous improvement.
  • Represent the company as a trusted partner to veterinary professionals and commercial stakeholders across the region.

Technical Support
  • In collaboration with the Marketing and Technical Manager, provide in-field technical support for the product portfolio.
  • Assist veterinarians, wholesalers, and other partners with scientific, clinical, and product-related questions.

Pharmacovigilance Support
  • Collect and report adverse events (AEs) to the Local Qualified Person (LQP).
  • Support the LQP in managing and documenting individual pharmacovigilance cases in compliance with regulatory requirements.
