Learn more about life at Dechra

My venture into the pharmaceutical space began while i was still at University and worked as a Regulatory Affairs assistant in a big pharma company. With finished studies and already some basic background, I continued my path in Dechra, working in the Regulatory Affairs space, which was always closely connected to Product Development. After a few dossiers written and registration procedures conducted, I slowly started my transition into managing development projects, finally bringing me to act as a Project Lead for several development projects (and some extras).

As a Project Lead I am accountable for cross-functional teams that work on developing an idea through research and development phases that hopefully result in a successful product launch. I mainly work in vaccines development but also participate in other types of projects, including remediation and process optimizations.

Not everyone is equally ambitious or driven to thrive at their job. We do all however spend a great chunk of time at work, but being able to do that everyday in a positive, encouraging, secure and supportive environment is a privilege. There is also no lack in celebrating our successes :) A great addition and motivation besides the company's outstanding social profile and development opportunities is the fact that the work we do, as an end result, improves health of our furry companions as well as livestock.

By performing similar tasks repeatedly you will likely get better, more robust and secure at it. However, allowing yourself to get out of your comfort zone and dive into a new territory you will always find new areas to grow and experiences that enrich you, both personally and professionally. Sharing knowledge, listening, brainstorming with others and building your network opens many doors.

There have been a few specific achievements, including poster presentation at a world level scientific conference for poultry and networking with experts I have cited many times, seeing products I have been developing being used in real life, being one of the rolling stones for the rewards & recognition initiative, spending 3 fantastic and intense months abroad learning from US colleagues in Product development. The main however achievement for me is the open minded and positive way of thinking, gained through constant effort, mentoring and feedback from fantastic leaders.
