The Opportunity Compliance is a key function for Dechra. Dechra operates within an increasingly complex and diverse regulatory framework. It is the role of the Compliance Officer to navigate relevant regulations, guidance, and standards to facilitate awareness and compliance in line with Dechra's strategic goals.
We are looking for a Compliance Officer to join our Compliance Team which is based in Northwich, UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Compliance Manager in overseeing global compliance with all general legislative and regulatory requirements and developing the Group's due diligence program, and in particular will be responsible for overseeing NA compliance. The role will be based in North America.
For the avoidance of doubt, the role is not responsible for pharma-industry specific regulatory matters which are managed globally by the Regulatory team.
Role Responsibility So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied scope and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:
- The key day-to-day responsibility will be to keep Dechra compliant with regulatory legislation with key areas including Data Protection; Anti-Competitive Practices; Anti-Money Laundering; Fraud and Fraud Awareness; Modern Slavery; Anti-Bribery and Corruption; Sanctions.
- Scanning the legislative horizon as regards upcoming developments and impending changes which may impact best practices. Monitoring and updating policies, procedures, and training programmes to enable the business to act in line with applicable legislation and, guidance.
- Providing practical, knowledgeable, and effective advice and training on all compliance matters. Assisting the Compliance Manager with the design and update internal online training courses. Determine the required frequency of training, the required audience and then monitor take up.
- Liaise with senior management regarding key compliance risks in their respective business areas, providing them with regular updates, training, and reports.
- Being the first point of contact and subject matter expert for the business for all compliance related issues on a day-to-day basis.
- Monitoring and managing relevant email inboxes and compliance and due diligence systems.
- Conducting external due diligence checks; advising on due diligence issues with respect to new and existing businesses and conducting third party screening for Modern Slavery, ABC, Sanctions, Data Protection, and other key compliance risks.
- Partnering with the Legal and Internal Audit and Risk teams to analyse and resolve potential compliance issues and respond to changes in regulatory requirements.
- Assist the Group Data Protection Officer with Data Privacy matters, in particular in North America.
- Responsible for own personal health & safety.
- Some domestic and / or international travel may be required
- Other tasks as requested.
