The Opportunity The Demand Planner is responsible for developing and managing accurate demand forecasts for a specific region / product category. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams including Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure alignment between demand and supply, improve forecast accuracy, support business planning processes and inventory optimization.
Role Responsibility So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied remit and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:
Forecasting & Planning: • Develop and maintain the regional demand forecast for identified products
• Aggregate all sources of demand (historical data, market trends, sales input) to create a 24-month rolling forecast.• Document and update assumptions supporting the demand plan.
• Provide input to the business in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products and product phase-outs
• Work with supply planning to set inventory levels based on future customer demands
Collaboration & Communication: • Work closely with Commercial, Supply Chain, and Product teams to align on forecast assumptions.
• Participate in Integrated Business Planning (IBP) processes and monthly outlook reviews.
• Schedule and chair monthly forecast meetings in accordance with monthly timetable
• Challenge assumptions when discrepancies arise between statistical forecasts and business inputs.
• Coordinate cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances between forecasts and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions
Performance Monitoring: • Track forecast accuracy and bias; implement corrective actions for continuous improvement
• Monitor demand plan performance by comparing actual vs. forecasted results.

3+ years of experience in
demand planning, forecasting and supply chain management.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in forecasting tools (e.g., SAP IBP, Oracle Demantra, Kinnaxis Maestro, Excel).
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Experience with Integrated Business Planning (IBP) is a plus.
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Economics, or a related field or equivalent work experience
Additional Information:
- Occasional global travel may be required with this role.
- This role is based in Northwich / hybrid
