The Opportunity

The Director of Sales, Western Zone is responsible for overseeing the sales operations, driving revenue growth, and ensuring the effective execution of the company's companion animal sales strategy. This leadership position will be instrumental in building and managing a high-performing sales team, developing new business opportunities, and maintaining strong relationships with key clients. The Director of Sales will work closely with senior leadership to set goals, develop sales strategies, and monitor performance to achieve and exceed sales targets.

So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied scope and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:

Sales Strategy Development & Execution
  • Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive sales strategies to achieve company growth objectives.
  • Lead the creation of sales plans and drive initiatives to meet revenue targets and market expansion goals.

Team Leadership & Development
  • Recruit, manage, and mentor the sales team to ensure high performance and professional growth.
  • Provide ongoing training, coaching, and development to enhance sales skills and productivity.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence within the sales team

Sales Performance Management
  • Establish clear sales performance metrics and KPIs to ensure team accountability.
  • Regularly track and analyze sales performance and provide actionable insights for improvement.
  • Motivate the team to exceed individual and collective sales goals.

Client Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain relationships with key clients and partners to ensure long-term business success.
  • Work with the sales team to identify and pursue new business opportunities and market segments.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage key accounts, ensuring client satisfaction and retention.

Market Analysis & Business Intelligence
  • Monitor industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to inform strategic decisions.
  • Provide feedback to product and marketing teams to enhance offerings based on market demands.
  • Adjust sales strategies as necessary to adapt to changing market conditions.

Collaboration and Reporting
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., marketing, product, customer service) to ensure seamless alignment and execution of business goals.
  • Prepare and present regular sales reports to executive leadership, outlining performance, challenges, and opportunities
