The Opportunity The
Global Head of Market Intelligence and Strategic Pricing will lead the development and execution of market intelligence, forecasting and pricing strategies for Dechra. This role combines deep market analysis and forward-looking forecasting to drive global strategy, product development, new products marketing/pricing, and competitive positioning. The incumbent will work closely with global cross-functional teams, including Marketing, R&D, Manufacturing and Finance to develop data-driven insights and pricing models that optimize revenue and margin performance.
So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied scope and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:
Market Intelligence and Forecasting
- Global Intelligence Strategy: Set the standard for the global organization on decisions informed by data. Design and own global platforms, models and data sets. Partner with Senior Leadership to inform enterprise strategy and analytics. Utilize advanced analytics to assess market potential, pricing strategies, global forecasts and provide ongoing performance tracking and benchmarking to guide commercial strategy. Enable application of data insights, and use of models, by worldwide regional teams to ensure consistency in business implications, inputs, assumptions and methodology.
- Market Analysis: Lead comprehensive market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks that inform global business strategies and decision making.
- Global/Market Forecasting: Lead approach to global forecasting for commercial development and new products marketing. Ensure a suitable model for cross-functional application in early product development stage and accurate market level forecasting in preparation for product launches.
- Customer Insights: Gather and analyze customer feedback, buying behavior, and market sentiment to provide actionable insights for product development (B2B and B2C).
- Competitive Intelligence: Monitor and report on competitive activities, pricing strategies, and industry developments to ensure the company maintains a competitive edge in the market.
- Industry Trends: Stay up to date with market dynamics, regulatory changes, technological advancements, and economic factors affecting the industry.
Strategic Pricing
- Pricing Strategy Development: Define and implement pricing strategies for new products/services that bring the company's business goals to life.
- Pricing Framework: Establish and maintain pricing guardrails, including tiered pricing, discounting policies, and contract negotiation guidelines, to ensure consistency and alignment across the organization, as portfolio expands.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Marketing, worldwide Regional Teams, Finance, R&D and Manufacturing teams to ensure that pricing strategies are effectively communicated and adopted across all channels.
Leadership and Strategic Guidance
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of market intelligence and pricing professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement.
- Stakeholder Communication: Present market intelligence insights and pricing strategies to senior leadership, guiding strategic decisions and influencing key business outcomes.
- Performance Metrics: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and regular reporting mechanisms to share monthly/quarterly/annual updates to industry data sets, effectiveness of market intelligence and pricing strategies.

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, or a related field. MBA or other advanced degrees are highly desirable.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in market intelligence, strategic pricing, or related fields, with at least 5 years in a global leadership or management role.
- Knowledge of key markets, including Europe, North America, LATAM, and Asia-Pacific.
- Experience in Animal Health strongly preferred, with a deep understanding of global market dynamics, customer behavior, and pricing models specific to the sector.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel as required.
