Junior Purchaser, Indirect Products + Consumables

Day Shift 0800-1630 hrs, 9-day fortnight
Every second Friday off

Skipton, site-based

The role
Are you highly organised, great with detail, and excited by the idea of keeping a busy manufacturing site running smoothly? We're looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Purchaser of indirect products and consumables to join our friendly team and play a key role in ensuring our products are delivered on time, in full, and to the highest standards .

In this role, you'll work closely with the wider supply chain team- supporting purchasing, planning, and day‑to‑day coordination of consumables that keep our site moving . These involve all non-finished product materials and goods we use across the site, such as office equipment, PPE, cleaning materials, warehouse equipment and much more. What you'll be doing
  • Converting purchase requisitions into purchase orders and sending them to suppliers
  • Running and updating min‑max reports to keep consumables stocked
  • Tracking expected deliveries and chasing anything outstanding
  • Applying for import licences via the Home Office
  • Supporting projects to source new or alternative consumable items
  • Creating visual charts and reports for the department
  • Helping to update job dates within Oracle when needed
  • Ensuring all data is handled in line with GDPR and business requirements
  • Working closely with finance, warehouse, procurement, and other key teams to improve processes
  • Placing cost‑effective orders within agreed frameworks
  • Supporting general planning administration
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant working environment
  • Following all safety, quality, and environmental procedures
  • Disposing of waste safely and recycling wherever possible

What success looks like
  • Strong supplier OTIF (on time, in full) performance
  • Accurate, timely purchasing and reporting
  • Smooth coordination across supply chain and planning teams

What you'll bringA confident approach when communicating with suppliers and various stakeholders/staff across the manufacturing site.

Essential skills/experience
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong time‑management and organisational skills
  • Confident user of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Oracle literacy
  • Good product awareness
  • Maths and English at Level 2 / GCSE equivalent

Desirable
  • Experience in a supply chain environment
  • Knowledge of compliance or regulated settings (e.g., cGMP)
