The Opportunity The Logistics Customs and Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring that all international trade activities comply with applicable customs laws and regulations. This role oversees the import and export processes, manages customs documentation, and ensures compliance with global trade regulations. The manager also collaborates with internal departments and external partners to streamline logistics operations and mitigate compliance risks.
Role Responsibility So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied remit and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:
Customs Compliance: • Develop and implement customs compliance policies and procedures.
• Ensure accurate and timely submission of customs declarations and documentation.
• Classify goods and determine appropriate tariff codes and valuation.
• Monitor and interpret changes in customs regulations and advise on necessary adjustments.
• Conduct internal audits and manage customs inspections.
Logistics Coordination: • Oversee international shipping and logistics operations.
• Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and logistics providers.
• Ensure timely and cost-effective transportation of goods across borders.
Risk Management: • Identify and mitigate risks related to customs and trade compliance.
• Resolve customs-related issues and discrepancies.
• Maintain records and documentation for audit readiness.
Training and Communication: • Train staff on customs procedures and regulatory updates.
• Liaise with customs authorities and maintain strong working relationships.
• Collaborate with legal, finance, and supply chain teams to ensure alignment.

• Computer literate with excellent planning and organising skills.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Certification in customs compliance (e.g., CCS, CUSECO).
• Experience with ERP systems and trade compliance tools.
• Proficient in data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, SQL a plus).
• International Supply Chain experience.
• Ability to effectively communicate and influence various levels in a matrix structure.
• Strong leadership and ability to communicate.
• Bachelor's degree in International Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in customs compliance, logistics, or international trade.
• Strong knowledge of global customs regulations and trade compliance.
• Experience with HS codes, Incoterms, and customs software systems.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Additional Information:
- Occasional global travel may be required with this role.
- This role is based in Northwich / hybrid
