A Little About Us
Dechra is a growing global specialist in veterinary pharmaceuticals. Our expertise is in the development, manufacture, marketing and sales of high-quality products exclusively for veterinarians worldwide. It's a great time to join our modern Skipton facility, and further investment for the Skipton site means that we're in an exciting period of positive change for the business.

Here at Dechra, our values are embedded within our culture and thrive within our family of almost 2000 colleagues globally. From manufacturing to marketing, (D)edication, (E)njoyment, (C)ourage, (H)onesty, (R)elationships and (A)mbition are at the heart of our everyday operations and the way we do business.

We are Dechra, a growing, global specialist in veterinary pharmaceuticals. Our expertise is in the development, manufacture, marketing and sales of high-quality products exclusively for veterinarians worldwide.

What the role looks like day‑to‑dayYou'll be right at the centre of our financial rhythm - making sure our monthly reporting runs smoothly across P&L, cash flow, balance sheet and working capital. You'll take ownership of producing and reconciling trial balances, preparing financial data for Group reporting and keeping everything aligned with our finance manual and control framework.

But it's not just about the numbers. We'd expect to see you spend plenty of time working with stakeholders and budget holders, helping them understand what the figures really mean and where we can improve performance.

You'll also shape the way we report and forecast, developing tools and commentary that make insight clearer and more actionable. From annual budgets and forecasts to standard costing and transfer pricing reviews, you'll take the lead - including calculating costs for new products and driving improvements in accuracy. When big decisions come up, you'll build the business cases that help us move forward with confidence. And because we're always looking to get better, you'll play an active role in strengthening our financial controls, governance and reporting processes.

Alongside the technical work, you'll be part of the wider DPM&S agenda, contributing to our focus on people, delivery, safety, cost and quality. And you'll help bring our Dechra values to life - dedication, enjoyment, courage, honesty, relationships and ambition - not just in what you do, but in how you do it.

What you'll bringYou'll be someone who can analyse complex information and explain it in a way that's clear, insightful and genuinely useful. You'll understand what drives operational and financial performance, and you'll be comfortable planning your workload, managing deadlines and working proactively when things get busy. Collaboration will come naturally to you - you'll enjoy building relationships, challenging constructively and being part of a team that wants to improve together.

Experience in a manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment will help you hit the ground running, and you'll be confident using tools like Oracle, QuickBooks or Hyperion, with advanced Excel skills to match. You'll also be degree‑educated and a qualified accountant with at least a year or two of post‑qualification experience.
