The Opportunity

In accordance with the Marketing Strategy set out by the Global Marketing and Technical Excellence Team, design, propose and oversee the country's (UK & ROI) marketing strategy to develop market share, optimize product positioning and profitability and support the sales policy with the aim of achieving the short, medium and long-term objectives.

This role is a player-coach role with the expectation that the successful candidate has product management responsibilities for a small proportion of the Dechra portfolio.

Additionally, to align with modern marketing trends, this role will integrate digital, data-driven, and customer-centric strategies to drive innovation, engagement, and business growth. This individual should be ready to actively engage and contribute to the team's efforts, taking on tasks as needed to help manage the workload.

Role Responsibility

So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied remit and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:

Marketing Strategy
  • Conduct regular product cost and life cycle reviews to optimize product portfolio, rationalize underperforming products, and explore innovation opportunities.
  • Define and propose the ongoing pricing approach for new and existing products, in conjunction with sales, key accounts, and technical teams.
  • Develop and implement marketing plans with associated expenditure costings, ensuring alignment with business priorities.
  • Leverage digital channels to enhance brand visibility and engagement.
  • Incorporate marketing automation to streamline lead nurturing and retention efforts.
  • Align go-to-market strategies with emerging omnichannel marketing trends.

Insights
  • Utilize a wide range of data sources to generate insights on market characteristics, Dechra's positioning, and growth opportunities.
  • Work with the Customer Optimisation Manager to define key data and intelligence requirements, ensuring marketing efforts are informed by real-time insights.
  • Implement predictive analytics and AI tools to forecast trends and inform decision-making.
  • Develop real-time performance dashboards to track marketing effectiveness and optimize resource allocation.
  • Conduct A/B testing and conversion rate optimization to refine campaigns and improve engagement.

Planning and implementation
  • Lead the development of a modern, integrated marketing communication strategy, ensuring consistency across sales, marketing, and technical teams.
  • Integrates digital marketing into the integrated marketing communication plan
  • Together with product managers, define annual plans and budgets, set objectives, and allocate promotional budgets.
  • Help optimize net margins by using various types of leverage
  • Ensure go-to-market strategies are accounted for (Key Accounts, wholesalers, direct to vet clinics, etc.)
  • Define the resources needed to launch new products or make changes to existing products
  • Implement test-and-learn growth marketing techniques for continuous improvement, together with the sales manager
  • Introduce customer journey mapping and experience optimization to improve engagement and loyalty.
  • Ensure sustainability by integrating ESG marketing strategies and transparent brand storytelling.

Monitoring and Measuring Marketing Effectiveness
  • Ensure that sales volumes and profitability targets are met through effective marketing execution.
  • Track customer engagement metrics and analyze data to optimize marketing spend.
  • Assess campaign impact and propose resource reallocation and optimization strategies to enhance ROI.
  • Make proposals regarding resource reallocation and the action plans based on the results and participate in management decisions
  • Implement and oversees the decisions made at the Country Leadership Team meeting related to marketing

Marketing Team Leadership
  • Define an organization structure that alines with the corporate strategy and operational requirements
  • Lead and motivate the marketing team, fostering a culture of innovation and agility.
  • Develop team members' skills in digital marketing, data analytics, and AI-driven marketing.
  • Promote customer community building, including user-generated content, forums, and brand advocacy programs.

Image and Communication Policy
  • Main activities carried out in conjunction with the respective departments, GMTE and European Marketing
  • Develop a network of internal and external relationships and solid work relationships to actively influence early stages of decisions that could affect the business and products
  • Organize and participates in events aimed at promoting the products and the brand (participation in conferences, symposiums, meetings of experts)
  • Help to develop and implement approaches aimed at continuous improvement of the products/services and differentiation of company image in the market

  • This role is based in Shrewsbury on a hybrid basis
