The Opportunity Dechra is an international specialist veterinary pharmaceuticals products business. Our expertise is in the development, manufacture, sales and marketing of high-quality veterinary products globally . The primary function of the role is to work within a team of Pharmacovigilance professionals and scientists with expertise across the global portfolio, to deliver Dechra's goals and ensure that Dechra has a compliant and functional system of pharmacovigilance and risk management in place .
Role Responsibility So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied scope and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:
- Identify gaps/risks and seek opportunities for increasing efficiency and effectiveness.
- Share knowledge, develop expertise across the PV group
- Use extensive knowledge and understanding of pharmacovigilance and Dechra as a business to introduce strategic thinking into processes that comprise Dechra's PV system.
- Influence and persuade others to support the implementation of solutions. Provide guidance documentation to support the role out of process change.
- Consider Dechra's best interests in the review of PV Agreements provided by Inlicensed partners. Find effective solutions that enable Dechra to comply with these agreements, with minimal disruption to Dechra's PV system.
- Use expertise to support the development of solutions for categorizing risk and ensuring that the benefit: risk balance of Dechra's portfolio of authorized product is monitored. Coach and develop less experienced colleagues in signal detection and management.
- Implement leading edge knowledge to direct Dechra's reaction and responses when evaluating and responding to PV signals.
- Use these opportunities to establish and elevate Dechra's reputation for PV expertise with external parties.
- Make use of multiple cross-functional relationships at Dechra to achieve goals that enhance Dechra's PV system.
- Represent the Dechra PV Team and interests with Agencies and industry parties.
- Participate in training that is deemed appropriate by training matrices.
- Promoting organizational values and organizational culture through one's own behaviour and encouraging others' desired behaviours.
- Rapidly devise solutions that align with business need.

- University degree and/or tertiary degree in veterinary medicine, pharmacy, biochemistry, or related life science disciplines, Vet technician/Vet nurse qualification.
- Knowledge of Pharmacovigilance requirements and legislation
- Resourceful and flexible; adept at managing complex situations with many variables, comfortable with reprioritising .
- Vigilant approach to risk, forward thinking ability to reflect on risks before recommending and adopting changes .
- Looking out for growth opportunities for the organisation and personally, enjoy helping others.
- Disciplined; strong focus on timelines and deadlines; maintains progress and high quality in the face of distractions, always considering increased efficiencies .
- Passion for the process of learning, able to adapt to new knowledge quickly. Strategic ability to sort through distractions to find the best route, adept at planning for the outcomes of different scenarios
- Skilled communicator: Ability to communicate cross culturally and communicate ideas concisely and objectively , internally and externally
