The Opportunity

As part of a team of veterinarians with extensive experience in both clinical practice and the pharmaceutical industry, this role works directly with field sales, marketing, and regulatory teams to provide subject matter education and technical expertise to both internal stakeholders and professional customers, supporting Dechra's equine product portfolio. This role is field-based and directly supports our Territory and Regional Sales Managers in providing technical education to veterinarians, professional staff, veterinary students and owner/rider/trainer groups.

Role Responsibility

So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied scope and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:
  • Project a positive image of Dechra and its products to the veterinary profession and comply with all regulatory standards governing veterinary pharmaceuticals.
  • Present technical seminars (live or virtual) as needed at regional and local veterinary meetings, and veterinary schools/colleges to support Dechra's product line and sales goals.
  • Accompany Dechra field personnel and deliver in-clinic educational presentations.
  • Assist in developing/presenting sales training for Dechra personnel.
  • Contribute to the development of technical marketing materials.
  • Attend assigned veterinary conferences to support and provide veterinary consultation at the booth and attend key lectures/sessions.
  • Identify and work closely with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in relevant therapeutic areas. • Monitor veterinary literature related to Dechra products/activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.


The Ideal Candidate

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of clinical experience as a veterinarian in equine practice
  • Active Veterinary License, in good standing
  • Valid US driver's license
  • Very strong comfort level with public speaking and Q&A sessions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications
  • Strong interpersonal skills, "team player", self-starter, ability to multi-task, and enjoy working on a variety of projects
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in field/remote setting
  • Ability to travel overnight as required - often up to 75%
